Littlecote House, set in 113 acres of gardens and rolling parkland, is located near Hungerford in the Royal county of Berkshire. A Roman mosaic, the stained glass window marking Henry VIII meeting Jane Seymour, the rooms where D-Day was planned. There's plenty to try here: from archery and tennis to snooker and our sauna. History enthusiasts will be in their element when staying at Warner’s Littlecote House Hotel. Built in the mid-1500s, this magnificent Grade I listed Tudor manor has a fascinating past, having played host to Romans, a Tudor tryst and even a Civil War army. Stunning architecture features throughout, most notably the famous Orpheus mosaic floor, whilst the hotel’s grounds are equally beautiful with 34 hectares of historic parklands and landscaped gardens. All of this is completed by an indoor swimming pool, sauna, steam room, tennis courts, a bowling green and the fantastic on-site restaurant, The Popham – a stay here will be truly special.

Day 1

Local departure by coach or Home Connect service, then on to Littlecote House in Berkshire for a four-night stay.

Day 2

Salisbury

Excursion to the beautiful, medieval city of Salisbury, where there is an abundance of historic buildings to explore, including the majestic cathedral, which boasts Britain's tallest spire, standing at a breathtaking 123 metres.

In the historic streets you'll find independent retailers as well as your favourite stores, the weekly Charter Market fills the market place with hustle and bustle and there are many great places to enjoy a bite to eat!

Day 3

Morning in Winchester, Afternoon at leisure

This morning we visit Winchester - England's ancient capital city. Home of good food and the country's largest farmer's market, birthplace of the modern game of cricket and the resting place of Jane Austen - Winchester is truly a destination for all seasons!

Later we return to Littlecote, where the remainder of the day will be at leisure so you can relax at the hotel and enjoy Warner’s fabulous activities, such as tennis or air-rifle shooting*.

Day 4

Oxford

We head to the interesting university city of Oxford, home to honey-coloured colleges and its many famous spires, giving it the affectionate nickname ‘City of Dreaming Spires’. The medieval metropolis revolves around the prestigious university, which dates all the way back to the 12th century.

Whether you’re a fan of literature and learning, or pubs and restaurants, Oxford is a delight to explore.

Return Home.

Coach seating arrangements

Your seats on the main coach will be allocated for you in advance, taking into consideration any special requests wherever possible. Your Tour Manager or driver will advise you where to sit as you board the coach. This will be your seat for the duration of the tour. (Seats are not allocated on any connecting services to and from the main coach.)

Joining your holiday

Your final travel documents, including the exact time and place of departure, will be sent to you approximately 10 days prior to departure, providing all payments have been made. We are unable to give exact departure times before this.

Meal arrangements

Where meals are not included, your Tour Manager will ensure there are suitable stops made for you to purchase and enjoy lunch each day.

If you have notified us of any special requirements, please check that they have been noted and acknowledged. This is especially important with any dietary needs you may have.

Disabled access

The majority of our tours involve a certain amount of walking, including a short walk from the coach stop to the town, attraction or venue you're visiting.  If you are bringing a wheelchair, please let us know at the time of booking so that appropriate arrangements can be made.
