2024 Scarborough & Whitby

4 - Day Tour

Early Spring Getaway

Yorkshire's warmest welcome awaits you for a relaxing early Spring weekend break in Scarborough where the mighty castle towers over the impressive headland and in its shadow the town has grown up around the bustling harbour.

Scarborough is a resort of immense style with an elegant promenade running along the top of the cliffs. Historic charm and scenic splendour surround the beautiful Yorkshire coastline and the North Yorkshire Moors National Park is just minutes away. A visit to the pretty fishing port of Whitby is included with an optional excursion to the fine medieval city of York

What The Price Includes
  • Hotel for 3 nights in Scarborough with dinner & breakfast
  • Entertainment on two evenings
  • Tea/coffee after dinner
  • Porterage
  • Visit to Whitby & Scenic Drive via the North York Moors

Day 1 After joining your holiday coach, heading to the North Yorkshire coast with refreshment stops en-route to your hotel. 3 nights with dinner, bed and breakfast.

Day 2 - 3 At leisure in Scarborough with one included excursion and one optional excursion.

Britain's first holiday resort, Scarborough, has been welcoming visitors for over 360 years. The North Bay and South Bay are separated by the headland on which stands the town's medieval castle. Safe beaches, cliff tops and a busy shopping centre stand only yards apart.

Whitby & North York Moors National Park

Your included excursion today takes you across the dramatic North York Moors National Park to Robin Hood's Bay (steep walk to the village centre). Then call at the much loved fishing town of Whitby, dominated by its cliff-top Abbey, with its quaint cobbled streets and picturesque houses standing on the steep slopes of the River Esk. The narrow streets and alleys winding down to the quays of this seafaring town still bustle as they have done for centuries. For the energetic, climb the 199 steps to Whitby Abbey and explore the beautiful ruins which tower over the town. Well known as the home port of the legendary seafarer Captain Cook, it also draws Dracula fans with its many connections to Bram Stoker. Don't forget to sample the world-beating fish and chips, fresh from the harbour

Medieval York

Magnificent York is a beautiful compact riverside city famous for its Roman, Viking and Medieval heritage dating back 2000 years. Within the ancient walls and twisting atmospheric streets you will find an array of sights to discover such as the 'Shambles', the iconic York Minster, Jorvik Viking Centre and a host of museums, shops, charming tea rooms and traditional pubs. There may be an opportunity for an optional guided city tour

Day 4 After breakfast travel homewards arriving early/mid evening
