COACH HOLIDAYS IN WALES
SWANSEA AND GOWER

Swansea and Gower

The 19 mile-long Gower Peninsula starts at Mumbles and extends westwards. It's famous for its beautiful coastline and beaches and is a favourite destination for walkers and surfers. The Peninsula's richly varied natural environment is renowned for its heathland, limestone grassland, fresh- and salt-water marshes, dunes and oak woodlands. Come and discover why Dylan Thomas wrote so passionately about his home town of Swansea. Swansea is Wales' second-largest city, and sits on the five-mile sweep of Swansea Bay.

Itinerary

Day 1

After joining your holiday coach, we make our way westwards pausing for lunch and refreshments opportunities. Crossing the River Severn estuary into Wales we arrive at our holiday base late afternoon with a welcome drink on arrival.

Room, dinner and breakfast

Days 2 and 3

At leisure in Newport with two included excursions.

Included Excursions

Gower Peninsula Guided Tour

Today we have a guided tour of the Gower Peninsula, with a visit to Mumbles. The Gower Peninsula is Britain’s first designated ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’ with spectacular views that include the famous Worm’s Head and Three Cliffs Bay, voted by television viewers as the “Second Best View” in Britain. Mumbles is a Victorian seaside resort full of character and deserving of its name ‘Gateway to the Gower’.

Swansea

We travel the short distance to the second largest city in Wales, Swansea, Wales’ Waterfront City. It sits on the sandy 5 mile stretch of Swansea Bay beach and the city centre is a vibrant hub with over 230 shops and a fabulous market that’s home to all sorts of local delicacies. There are loads of places to visit including the Dylan Thomas Centre, Swansea Museum and the National Waterfront Museum to name but a few.

Day 4

After breakfast we depart our hotel and return over the Severn Bridge crossing back into England where we make our way to Cirencester for a lunch and sightseeing opportunity. We continue homewards to arrive back early/mid evening.

We then depart, arriving home during the evening.

Further Information

N.B. Please note that this itinerary was produced well in advance of the forthcoming holiday season and that all optional activity prices and excursion content were correct at that time but could have been subject to change in the meantime. We reserve the right to make any changes necessary without prior notification.

Coach seating arrangements

Your seats on the main coach will be allocated for you in advance, taking into consideration any special requests wherever possible. Your Tour Manager or driver will advise you where to sit as you board the coach. This will be your seat for the duration of the tour. (Seats are not allocated on any connecting services to and from the main coach.)

Joining your holiday

Your final travel documents, including the exact time and place of departure, will be sent to you approximately 10 days prior to departure, providing all payments have been made. We are unable to give exact departure times before this.

Meal arrangements

Where meals are not included, your Tour Manager will ensure there are suitable stops made for you to purchase and enjoy lunch each day.

Special requirements

If you have notified us of any special requirements, please check that they have been noted and acknowledged. This is especially important with any dietary needs you may have.

Disabled access

The majority of our tours involve a certain amount of walking, including a short walk from the coach stop to the town, attraction or venue you're visiting.  If you are bringing a wheelchair, please let us know at the time of booking so that appropriate arrangements can be made.
